Protoje is one of the best precursors of new reggae artists’ generation. Well-known for his innovative spirit
and his music which mixes reggae, hip-hop, R&B and soul, he has been a major strength in Jamaican music
these past years.
From his hit “Who Knows” feat Chronixx in 2014, to his 2nd Grammy Awards nomination this year for his
album «THIRD TIME’S THE CHARM” (after the nomination for «A MATTER OF TIME» in 2018), PROTOJE has
risen to become a real reggae headliner, while he still break the barriers between styles and assert his vision.
His last projects had been acclaimed by medias all over the world and beyond reggae networks: Vogue,
Billboard, BBC, Trace TV, Rolling Stones…
He continues to perform at legendary festivals such as Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, Reading &
Leeds, Summerjam, Rototom Sunsplash, Dour, Les Eurockéennes, Cabaret Vert, Boomtown Festival and many
more! He did hundreds of shows in South and North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, openings for LAURYN
HILL…
CHRONIXX and him are now legends in the UK for gathering more than 10k people at the “Alexandra Palace”.
In 2022, he closed the Summerjam on the main stage with an amazing show.
In 2022, PROTOJE released «THIRD TIME’S THE CHARM», his sixth studio album (and 2nd with RCA Record),
recorded in his home studio The Habitat, located in Kingston’s hills. With «A MATTER OF TIME» and «IN
SEARCH OF LOST TIME», «THIRD TIME’S THE CHARM» perfectly ends the trilogy about the notion of time.
Each album reflects an emblematic period in PROTOJE’s life, which led him into new reflections and visions
of the world, a personal and professional introspection, as a man, father and artist.
With this opus, PROTOJE kept his reggae roots, including all the sounds he learnt to love. From all this, the
result is a strong album, with famous featurings (JORJA SMITH, LILA IKÉ , JESSE ROYAL, SAMORY I), critically
well acclaimed ! He also worked with Jamaican producers, such as Iotosh, Ziah Push and Zion I Kings, and the
British Cadenza for the co-production of “Late At Night” feat LILA IKÉ.
This generosity and highlighting of feminine artists is proper to In.Digg.Nation Collective, his own artist
and record management company created in 2014. With this project, he’s behind some of the brand new
Jamaican songs played worldwide!
For 2023, Baco Music planned a legendary evening with the artist for his french fans. Saturday 21 October,
PROTOJE – with his band THE INDIGGNATION – will be on the stage of the mythical Olympia, in Paris !
